The reason why i want to be a vet

When i was a child i wanted to be a singer, because I love music; An astronaut, because i love know curiosities about the planets, the stars, galaxies or every kind of space objects; Even I want to be an painter or sculptress, i always was in love with art, and still today, I don’t give up to be recognized for my draws, paintings and sculptures. I of course I love the animals since I was very young so one of my favorites options was to be a veterinarian. But with time, all these options appear unlikely. I started to think of what was more possible and what will complete me.

If I want to be a singer I will deal with a pressure of a big public and I am very shy in that kind of occasions, so no, thanks. I am terrible on physics and that don’t combines with be an astronaut.

But I always loved chemistry and biology, and like the contact with some people, like the owners of dogs that a meet when I take a walk with my dog. I like to hear they, the problems with their animals, the conduct with another thing and whatever that the owner say about the animal, I stay very interested. With that signals I started to think that the profile of a vet is very close of my personality.

Each day I am more shore that I chose right, I am enjoying a lot the university, mainly the company of the animals, of all kind. Because of that i am not shore of what speciality i will take.

Webquest 2

A)About Cows:

1. What are the  5 most common pathologies of cows? Mention them and give a little description too.

1. Bovine Ulcerative Mammillitis (Bovine Herpesvirus II)
Bovine herpesvirus II causes an acute, ulcerative condition of teat and udder skin of dairy cows that is often referred to as bovine ulcerative mammillitis.

Several strains of bovine papillomavirus (BPV1, BPV5, BPV6, BPV9) cause the development of papillomas or fibropapillomas on teats.

The development of raised smooth or rough rings at the teat ends of lactating cows is a common occurrence. Teat ends that are affected with hyperkeratosis may progress from smooth, doughnut-shaped lesions that do not affect milking to severely hyperkeratotic rings with radial cracks.

Dermatitis of the udder has a number of causes including chemical irritants, sunburn, and bacterial infection. Exposure to chemical irritants can occur from bedding additives (eg, some types of limestone) or chemicals used during milking.

Moist, foul-smelling, necrotic lesions may be observed in areas of tightly adjacent skin of some animals. In heifers, the lateral aspect of the udder and medial aspect of the thigh are often involved.

2.Publish a picture of the cow's digestive system (with names)
3.Publish a picture of the cow's external anatomy  (with names)
B) Choose one of these farm animals:  pig, horse or rabbit.
 Horses

A song i like

I love this song because for me it's a inspiration about a lot of things: freedom, corage, know yourself, etc...

Also the video have a interesting message if it's interpretise not literally.

This song makes me think that we have to stop sometimes and push the rutine away, and be who we are without afraid of what others will think about us, assumes risks.

The videoclip shows a man which is following the society as usual of all the people in those days. But in the middle of the way to his job, he becomes tormented with animals, wich i interpret as the fellings and the wish to be free, of be yourself. The routine, let that felling asleep in the deeper of the man, and made he a prisioner of what the society need and not what he is in the reality, in his heart. That's why the song says: Owner of a lonely heart (lonely but faithful with who you are) much better of a owner of a broken heart ( broken because you're not being who you really want to be in your heart)

Something about the band:
Yes! are an English progressive rock band, was formed in 1968 with Jon Anderson as vocalist.
                                   Jon aderson in 1973

They have 21 studio albums.

In 1983 their sales peaked across the decade with 90125 (the eleventh album), wich spawned the US number one single "Owner of a Lonely Heart".

Finally in the end of the video we can see that all was a premonition of what will happend if he follow the society as a robot, so he turn back and walk against the flow of the people.

For me it's a metaphor wich means that we have to think on our own, not just following what is said to us.

The song is deeper that how it's seems.
